The Elysia Column Selector is a radio HPLC tower module that allows to install up to 6 HPLC columns in the HPLC system. The design allows an easy access and a simple exchange of columns. It can be used with columns up to 300 mm. To increase the radiation safety and to decrease the irradiation dose for the technician, we propose 2 optional lead holders to shield the column.

Most of the time, each radiopharmaceutical produced requires its specific HPLC column for quality control by radio-HPLC, which requires frequent column installation/uninstallation cycle. Radio-HPLC run time may vary from 5-6 minutes to more than 30 minutes, in addition, during development residual activity may stay on the column leading to extended exposition for operators if the column is not disassembled. The optional shielding is an added value when high volumic activity samples are injected.

The column is easily selected through the Gina 10 software by the selection of the valve position from 1 to 6, software allows you to rename position number with name of column or applications (i.e position =2 is 18F-DOPA column). The position used for the analysis is recorded by the software. The selection valve features 1/16” fittings with 0.40 mm port , the entry port is connected to tubing coming from injector and flow is automatically sent to the selected columns. The flow coming from the column is directed towards a manifold where the tubing going to detectors is connected (see scheme). Columns can be installed through standard 1/16” connectors and standard HPLC tubings (peek or stainless steel).

The standard maximum pressure of the valve is 350 bars; higher pressure or an inert valve are also available on request.

The system is compatible with columns up to 300 mm (without pre-columns) and 5 mm diameter. One of the 6 lines can be dedicated to a flush system with buffer or a mobile phase and by-passing column. The fixation of the columns ensure a direct access to the connection and an easy assembly/disassembly.

The module is equipped with an easy-to-clean gutter and can be optionally shielded internally with lead to reduce operators exposition to a factor 5 to 10.
