ELECTROMECHANICAL ENGINEER (R&D)

For our head office in Angleur (Liège area), we are currently looking for an:
ELECTROMECHANICAL ENGINEER (R&D) (M/F/N)

Function

We are looking for a versatile R&D electro-mechanical engineer with a substantial experience in electromechanics. Experience in mechanical conception of relatively complex assembly or of automate or machine controlled by computer at destination of qualified users is a plus. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to develop or improve products in line with the company’s vision and strategy.

Key responsabilities:

1. Electromechanical Design and Development:
o Design and develop new laboratory equipment, focusing on innovative electromechanical solutions.
o Modify and enhance existing devices in the market by developing new accessories, improving current functionalities, and resizing components to extend their lifecycle.
2. Component Selection:
o Choose appropriate components such as pumps, actuators, motors, power supplies, fans, connectors, buttons, probes, fluidic elements, materials, feet, and housings, based on performance and cost considerations.
3. Documentation and Prototyping:
o Produce detailed mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and pneumatic or fluidic diagrams.
o Develop and test functional prototypes, documenting each phase of the development process meticulously.
4. Manufacturing and Assembly:
o Supervise the manufacturing and assembly of quick prototypes and beta devices.
o Manage subcontracted manufacturing or design projects to ensure they meet specified requirements.
5. Production Transfer and Documentation:
o Facilitate the transfer of new products to production, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
o Maintain comprehensive product documentation for future reference and compliance.
6. Continuous Improvement:
o Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance our product portfolio, ensuring we stay at the forefront of technological advancements and market demands.

Deliverables:
o Detailed mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and pneumatic or fluidic diagrams.
o  Thorough documentation of the development phase, including testing protocols and results.

Profile and Requirements:

o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
o Minimum 2 years of experience in an R&D-oriented role.
o Valuable experience in 3D printing and/or part machining (e.g., SS, aluminum, polymers, lead).
o Pragmatic, curious, and with a taste for design and user experience.
o Proficiency in CAD software.
o Strong communication skills in French and English (B1 minimum).
o Organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
o A team player with a creative mindset, stress tolerance, and autonomy.
